Transfers and UW NON-DTC

Welcome to the University of Washington
College of Engineering Departmental Application
Transfer and UW Non-DTC Students

All applications for Spring 2019 admissions were due July 1st.

View or Print Completed Online Application

If you completed an application, you may view and print summaries for your records or check on the status of your application. During the next application period, previous application information will not be available. You can anticipate receiving information about your admission status via email about a month after the deadline.

The online application will re-open in January for Spring 2019 admissions.

The application requires that the grades from the previous quarter have been fully submitted for all classes at the UW in order to open, so please be patient if there is a delay.

Some majors admit for autumn only, some admit for spring only and some admit for both, please check the transfer student deadlines and UW student deadlines for more information.

Transfer Students Application Periods

You can begin to prepare for the application cycle in advance, by working on your personal statement(s) for your intended major(s) via the prompts linked below.

Getting Ready

Current UW students:

  1. Complete the application requirements for engineering major(s) admission, or Computer Science admission prior to the deadline. Ensure you’re also completing the enrollment requirements to be prepared for admission. Applicants with incomplete coursework should contact individual departments before the application period ends to learn if you can be eligible to apply.

  2. Collect PDFs of your unofficial transcripts from ALL colleges or universities that you have attended (except UW). UW transcripts are NOT needed. All departments require submission of PDFs of transcripts via the admissions application.

  3. Prepare to fill out application sections:
    1. Personal information (name, contact information)
    2. Education summary (list of all colleges attended, dates, GPAs and credits)
    3. Employment summary (list of work experience and dates)
    4. Major selection page (list of majors to which you are applying)
    5. Corresponding courses summary page (list of all prerequisite and other relevant classes required for all majors to which you are applying). Information already available on your UW transcript will automatically be filled in with options to edit. Additions and deletions can be made at any time while the application is open and before the application is officially submitted.
  4. Write a personal statement for each major you’d like to apply to.
