We believe that building a diverse community of engineers promotes engineering excellence and innovation for the common good. We strive to build and support an inclusive community where all members thrive, are valued and feel a sense of belonging.

The Office of Inclusive Excellence (OIE) strategic plan and impact report

Established in 2022, OIE leads strategic, policy-focused changes to transform the culture of the College of Engineering by embedding DEI best practices throughout our communities and improving structures that enable DEI initiatives to succeed.  Learn more about our strategic plan and the work our team has accomplished since our launch.

College of Engineering data transparency

The College of Engineering community is made up of over 9,800 students, academic personnel and staff. The diversity dashboard provides a snapshot of our staff and academic personnel. The hiring dashboard provides insight into our faculty hiring. The dashboards provide insight as we work together to build a welcoming and inclusive community.

The Interdisciplinary Engineering Building (IEB)

Scheduled for completion in 2024, the IEB will provide an academic home for all undergraduate engineering and add new, state-of-the-art spaces for students. The OIE team gathered input from students which shaped the overall design plans. Changes included a plan for the art on the walls, designated rooms for student affinity groups, a prayer room and the addition of a lactation room for nontraditional students.
