First in her family to attend college, Fethya Ibrahim makes the most of her time at the UW, participating in ME’s Cell Biomechanics Lab and the Machine Shop.

They own their own engineering companies, have each been named "Engineer of the Year" by the American Council of Engineering Companies-WA chapter, and they've established a scholarship fund.

Growing up, Emilio Beltran knew no one, anyone aside from his teachers, who had been to a 4-year school. Now a UW A&A graduate, he has set up the Beltran Endowed Fund for Undergraduate Student Support.

For over 15 years, ME has partnered with the Seattle VA’s Center for Limb Loss Prevention & Prosthetic Engineering, providing hands-on research opportunities for students and helping propel UW biomechanics research.

The Post-Disaster Rapid Response Research Facility builds on Joe Wartman’s post-disaster data collection expertise, including leading data collection following the 2014 Oso landslide, the deadliest in U.S. history.
