Admission pathways into engineering departments
Upper division or “regular” admission
Upper division admission, or regular admission, is offered by all engineering departments. You can apply for upper division admission once you have completed the full set of prerequisites for your department(s) of interest. If you are a first-year student, you can apply for upper division admission if you’ve completed all of the necessary coursework via Running Start or AP/IB.
You can apply to multiple majors as long as you have completed all the admission prerequisites for each departments of interest. Some departments offer this admission pathway once a year, some twice a year, see the chart below for more information.
Spring 2018 admission cycle: application opens middle of January and is due February 1
Autumn 2018 admission cycle: application opens middle of June and is due July 1
