Engineering Program Enhancement Fee funds are invested in initiatives that improve the educational experience of engineering students. Faculty, staff, and student-led teams may submit proposals during the annual funding cycle.

This funding supports shared, student‑focused improvements that enhance the undergraduate engineering experience. Priority is given to ideas that benefit the broadest range of undergraduate engineering students and create impact across departments.
New or upgraded labs, shops and makerspaces
Shared tools, equipment or industry‑standard software
Hands‑on learning and experiential programs
Technical, research or career‑readiness support
Infrastructure that improves safety, access and equity
Who may submit proposals?
Students are strongly encouraged to participate and help shape investments that improve hands-on learning, labs, makerspaces and student support across the College.
- Students, faculty and staff in the College of Engineering, UW Seattle campus.
- Students in Engineering Student organizations (ESOs) and other cross-department student groups or teams.
Proposal selection
A committee of students, faculty and staff review proposals and make recommendations to the Dean. Priority is given to ideas that:
- Benefit the most engineering undergraduate students
- Support shared labs, makerspaces, equipment or software
- Expand hands-on and experiential learning
- Strengthen technical, research, or career-readiness support
