College of Engineering COVID-19 Resources Digest - February 01, 2021

Greetings,

Thank you for your participation in the efforts to get us Back to Campus safely and efficiently. You will find an archive of past digests at our website.

King and Pierce counties are in Phase 2 of Governor Inslee’s Healthy Washington plan. Learn more about the UW’s plan.

Returning to Campus

  • On 2/1/2021, King county along with Pierce, Snohomish, Thurston and three others entered Phase 2 of the Healthy Washington plan
    • Some relaxation of restrictions on businesses;
    • Decision-making process now requires that 3 of the 4 metrics must be met in order to move to the next phase;
    • Progress changes on phases will be every two weeks instead of weekly to enable better data analysis.
  • UW Medicine’s vaccination program is one of the most efficient in the state with a waste rate of .01%! They have temporarily paused new online vaccination appointments due to ongoing supply chain challenges.
  • UW Facilities is working with UW Medicine to plan for COVID-19 mass vaccination drive-up service in the E-1 parking lot.
  • UW Libraries is working with EH&S to identify building space that can be reopened in spring quarter to promote on-site student collaboration opportunities.
  • A new COVID-19 test site in the E-1 parking lot is finalized and open to the public for testing. Please note this test site is not a part of the Husky Coronavirus Testing Program.
  • The WA Notify COVID-19 exposure notification app is live, enabling participants to utilize smartphone technology to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
  • EH&S has launched a dedicated phone hotline for UW students, faculty and staff to call with questions or to report on positive test results: 206-616-3344. All messages are logged and retrieved daily with appropriate follow-up provided by EH&S staff.

We have received reports of employees not being aware of the required online training or attestations prior to returning to campus. Please ensure this information is shared with all supervisors across your unit to inform relevant staff.
