Occupational Health and Safety Checklist

Use the left-hand column to mark all of the hazardous activities or materials that are applicable to your department. Check each marked row to see if a written safety plan is required. Specific regulations apply to these hazards that require a variety of protective measures such as protective equipment, training, medical surveillance, engineering controls, etc. The Written Program Required column will indicate whether a written safety plan is available from EH&S or whether the department will have to make its own. Additional safety procedures that departments have established for physical or health hazards that are not regulatory requirements should be added at the end of this table. The department will need to make sure that the required regulator and departmental programs and/or procedures are available at the workplace.

If you wish to fill in the right hand column with the location of the department's copy(s) of each required safety plan, this table could be inserted into Part C of the plan as the department's list of programs.

Environmental Health and Safety can provide information needed to comply with these regulations by calling the EH&S support numbers listed in the table.
