Visit Us/Attend Special Events

Several events throughout the year offer opportunities for prospective students and families to learn more about engineering at the UW:
- Discovery Days - late April
- UW Preview Days - late March and early April
- Purple & Gold Days - April
- Department-specific events
Engineering Discovery Days
Engineering Discovery Days is a great time to visit the UW College of Engineering (CoE)!
On April 26 and 27, 2013 the UW CoE opens its doors to the community and welcomes students, families, alumni, and partner organizations to campus to visit over 100 hands-on exhibits (appropriate for students grades 4-12), hosted by the 10 engineering departments.
On April 27, departments offer information sessions targeted for high school and transfer students. Register and confirm time and location.
Preview Days - For All UW Admitted Students
The University of Washington Office of Admissions welcomes admitted students to campus during Preview Days. While most engineering departments are not able to accommodate individual appointments with prospective students, the College of Engineering is participating in a resource fair from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Husky Union Building (HUB) first floor on the following dates:
- March 25th and 29th
- April 1st, 8th, 12th, 15th, 19th
If you have been admitted, register for UW Preview Days and be sure to stop by and visit us!

Purple & Gold Days
Admitted students of color receive invitations from the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity (OMA/D) for Purple & Gold Days. These visitation days are specially designed to showcase the UW campus and its multicultural resources. The College of Engineering is proud to participate and speak to prospective students during the resource fairs on the following dates/times:
- April 8th, 12th, 15th, 17th, 22nd
Learn more about our 10 Engineering Departments
Each engineering department has information for prospective students and its own in-house advisers available by appointment only. Chances of being able to speak to an adviser without an appointment are slim.
