Accreditation Information for 2013-2014 Cycle

Self-study reports are due to ABET by July 1, 2013.

College of Engineering Suggested timeline for the Fall 2013 ABET Accreditation Visit

The College's Review Cycle will be 2013-2014.

ABET recommends that programs become familiar with the information requested in the ABET Self-Study Questionnaire well before submitting a Request for Evaluation (RFE). See the Self-Study template for 2013-21014.

By January 31, 2013

Dean's office submits a Request for Evaluation (RFE) to ABET to secure a review between September and December 2013. One official graduate's transcript for each program must accompany the request for evaluation.

Mock accreditation visit

  • January 15, 2013: Due date for Self-Study reports to evaluators, Pat Daniels and Ed Jones.
  • February 4, 5, and 6: Mock Accreditation Campus Visit

Week of June 4

Optional peer reviews of Self-Study Reports. Reviews by other ACI members and possible exchange of mock reviewers between WSU and UW)

Week of June 10 (final exam week) or week of June 17

Optional or Required? Review of Self-Study Reports by Eve Riskin and the Dean.
Email Self-Study to Eve and the new dean for review; copy Janice.

June 25 or 26, 2013

Final Self-Study to Janice in the appropriate medium (see: ## NOTES) to submit to ABET headquarters and the Team Chair, etc.

By July 1, 2013

  1. Submit Self-Study report and all appendices and supplemental materials (without the academic transcripts) to ABET headquarters.

    ## NOTE: The Self-Study Report and Supplemental Material should be submitted as pdf read-only files on CD, DVD, or data stick. Each Self-Study Report and Supplemental Material must be self-contained in the medium submitted and must not include external hyperlinks. The submission cannot be a combination of hard copy and electronic file. No email submission permitted.

  2. Submit Self-Study report and all appendices and supplemental materials to the Team Chair.

    ## NOTE: The Team Chair will decide the submission method for the Self-Study Report, etc.

Summer 2013

  1. When requested, submit a set of transcripts to the Team Chair.
  2. When instructed by the Team Chair, send Self-Study reports and supplemental materials to each program evaluator and observer.
