Call For Software Demonstrations

Demonstrations of current software for geotechnical/geoenvironmental engineering practice are now being solicited for the upcoming Specialty Conference on Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering and Soil Dynamics.

Developers and software vendors are invited to exhibit and demonstrate their software products on two afternoons of the conference. The demonstrations will allow conference attendees to discuss software applications in an informal environment. Software demonstrators are encouraged to provide "hands-on" demonstrations of their software, as well as posters and handouts, or other print media.

It is anticipated that a CD-ROM will be produced and distributed to all conference attendees. This CD-ROM will include demonstration versions of some applications.

Software Demonstration Hours:

Set Up:
Monday, August 3: 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Demonstration Hours:
Tuesday August 4: 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, August 5: 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Location:

The software demonstration area will be located in the Walker-Ames room located on the second floor of Kane Hall. Kane Hall is located on the University of Washington campus and is where the technical sessions for the conference will take place.

The software demonstration area will be open during, between, and after the afternoon technical sessions and will be listed as an alternative session in the conference bulletin.

Conference Attendees:

400-500 geotechnical professionals from industry, government, and universities, (both national and international).

Booth and Computer Rental:

The software demonstration area can accommodate twelve 8' x 10' booths, (10' wide by 8' deep). Vendors may rent computer equipment to be used for their on-site presentation through the conference tradeshow company. A packet of rental information will be sent upon receipt of their application.

Software Demonstration Fee:

The following sliding fee schedule based on the cumulative retail cost of the demonstrated software has been developed to accommodate the wide range of anticipated products and to encourage freeware and shareware developers to participate. Please indicate below the fee category of your software.
