Housing Scholarships

Students who have completed the FAFSA are eligible for scholarships to assist with the cost housing.  Students should be sure to include UW STEM Bridge costs in their 2013-14 academic year budget.

Applying for STEM Bridge Housing

Before applying for STEM Bridge housing, students must wait until their acceptance in to the program has been confirmed. Housing will be in conjunction with housing for students participating in the Early Fall Start program, and therefore, STEM Bridge students will use the Early Fall Start Housing Application to apply.

Housing Assignments

Housing and Food Services (HFS) expects to have space available during the STEM Bridge for all students who apply for housing.

If you apply for housing by June 1 for both the UW STEM Bridge and the 2013-2014 academic year, most likely you will be assigned to the same room for both periods. You may, however, be assigned to a different room if you have requested a theme community, such as Engineering Community, for autumn quarter.

If you apply after June 1:

  • Most likely, you will be assigned to a triple room for the UW STEM Bridge period even if you are assigned to a double room for the academic year.
  • You may be assigned to a different residence hall and/or room for the academic year.

If you are assigned to a different room for the STEM Bridge than for the academic year, you will be required to move from your STEM Bridge room at least one week prior to the start of autumn quarter.

Make Sure You Receive Your Housing Info

HFS sends most correspondence to applicants and residents via their UW email accounts and will begin sending UW STEM Bridge assignment information in late July. Please check your UW email account regularly. You are responsible for receiving and reviewing any information sent by HFS to your UW email account.

Please note that if you forward your UW email to a different account, it may be filtered, refused or treated as spam. To ensure delivery of emails from HFS to your email inbox, please add these addresses to your email address book or list of approved senders:
