Engineering Bridge Program for Incoming Engineering Students

The Engineering Bridge Program (EBP) is a summer program designed to assist incoming first-year engineering students in making a smooth transition to college.
During the four-week program, EBP students:
- Attend academic workshops to prepare for the rigors of college mathematics and science.
- Get an introduction to University and College of Engineering resources.
- Engage with an academic community that will become a vital part of a student's successful transition to the University.
- Participate in engineering design activities and learn about the engineering profession.
2009 Schedule: August 24 through September 18
In the summer of 2009, the EBP will take place during the UW’s Early Fall Start program. EBP students will be registered for a 3 credit academic workshop and will participate in activities as follows:
Mondays through Thursdays
- Morning academic workshops run for 2 hours each day.
- Afternoons include a variety of presentations, workshops, and other activities centered around the study and practice of engineering.
Fridays
- Industry tours and time to work on group projects.
One weekend activity may also be included in the program.
Program Costs and Housing
The 3-credit EBP course is a part of the student’s fall registration. Students who take 15 credits or less during the fall will not owe any additional tuition.
EBP students are encouraged to live on campus during the four-week program.
