Upcoming Workshop

Our next workshop is scheduled for Spring 2011.

The workshop format will include panels (including women panelists who have made the transition), small group discussions and other opportunities for informal interaction.

Workshop topics include:

  • Why academia is a rewarding place to work
  • How to apply for academic jobs from industry, consulting, and national/research labs
  • Getting your teaching started efficiently
  • Securing external funding
  • Leveraging your industrial position to bring funding to your academic program
  • Working with graduate and undergraduate students
  • Balancing life and work

The expected workshop size is anticipated to be about 30 participants and 12 speakers, allowing for ample opportunities for attendees to network and develop a supportive community.

More on the 2011 workshop date and further details forthcoming.
