They join a prestigious group of engineering faculty receiving national acclaim and major grants. The recently announced $18.5 million, five-year grant to establish a new NSF Engineering Research Center focused on neural engineering is just one of many impressive awards. The center complements our science and technology center in optoelectronic materials and devices and is the second major NSF center in the college.
Last year, our research expenditures totaled over $112 million dollars, an outstanding achievement in our current economic climate. This funding contributes to the strength of our faculty, research programs, and provides flexibility to collaborate across campus and with other leading institutions.
We are excited to welcome these exceptional professors to our vibrant community. I hope you'll take the opportunity to learn more about them.
Thank you for reading Washington Engineer.
