Video Welcome from Dean Matt O'Donnell

Hi, I'm Matt O'Donnell, the dean of Engineering at the University of Washington. Welcome to our first online edition of Trend, our alumni magazine. I think over the next few years you will see a lot of new information about the college which we'll try to get to you in this electronic format.

And I'm especially excited about the first issue because we're going to be talking about molecular engineering. Molecular engineering is a very important initiative for the College of Engineering. It's also something I'm personally very interested in because I think it's going to set the foundation for a lot of future directions in engineering, especially in the areas of modern energy systems and health care devices and health care systems.
