Washington Engineer - October 2011 Video Message
Read Matt's message
Hi, I'm Matt O'Donnell, dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Washington.
Well, it's that time of year again when I can't find a parking place and the students are running around like crazy trying to find their homes. But some of those students are heading into an exciting new class taught by our latest MacArthur Fellow, Shwetak Patel. We're really excited that he was announced as a MacArthur award winner this fall.
I'm also thrilled to announce that Intel has awarded the university a new Science & Technology Center focused on pervasive computing. This is only the fifth such center formed by Intel in the country.
So, I want to thank you all for reading Washington Engineer and hope to see you soon. Thank you very much.
