Faculty whose salary is paid at least in part from federal grants must be paid from non-federal funds for time spent on non-grant-related activities. Faculty Effort Certifications (FECs) quantify how effort is divided.
This policy concerns University participation in the costs of a sponsored project using non-federal funding sources.
