Peter Pauzauskie

Assistant Professor, Materials Science & Engineering

Peter Pauzauskie

  • Ph.D. Physical Chemistry, University of California, Berkeley 2007
  • B.S. Chemistry and Mathematics, Kansas State University 2002
  • B.S. Chemistry, Kansas State University 2002

Peter Pauzauskie joins the Materials Science & Engineering in the summer of 2010 from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where he was a postdoctoral fellow.

Dr. Pauzauskie's group at the University of Washington focuses on using nanoscale optomechanics for the molecular engineering of advanced materials and biosensors. Experimental efforts are aimed at answering the question, "How can optomechanical materials be used to control molecular interactions at nanometer length scales?"

Among his honors are the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, the E.O. Lawrence Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellow at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and the Materials Research Society Graduate Student Gold Award.
