Pavement Design

Online course. Continuous enrollment; course starts March 2009.

This new online course will focus on the pavement design methods for both flexible and rigid pavements covered in the AASHTO 93 Pavement Design Method. Working at your own pace, you will identify the major pavement types; use data to perform calculations to develop estimates of load and materials inputs; describe the elements of pavement response to loads and temperatures; use the AASHTO 93 pavement design procedures for flexible and rigid pavement; understand how to perform life cycle cost analyses and review the ways that construction variables can affect pavement performance. Online assessments at the end of each module will help you measure what you have learned. This course has been designed for civil engineers, technicians and consultants who work in state, county, or city transportation settings.
