On behalf of the Steering Committee, we welcome you to the Fifth International
Conference on Managing Pavements. The Conference will build on the success
of the previous conferences, which were held in Toronto, Canada, San Antonio,
Texas and Durban, South Africa. The objective of this conference is to further
enhance the understanding and use of pavement management by transportation
agencies and practitioners and further develop its relationship with infrastructure
and asset management. The primary focus of this conference will be on closing
the gap between vision and reality so that the full benefits of using pavement
management are realized.
The conference will maintain the quality of the previous conferences while incorporating new features to enhance your experience. The technical tracks will focus on specific needs of practitioners at the national/state and local levels, as well as those at airports and in private industry. Regardless of the type of agency, the conference will provide strategies to further your agency's success with pavement management.
The program offers many opportunities to learn how agencies from many countries, states, and local agencies are approaching pavement management in the 21st Century. You will also learn about the latest developments in pavement management and data collection. The workshops, exhibits and poster sessions are all designed to facilitate your interaction with other practitioners as well as the presenters.
The conference venue is in the heart of Seattle, Washington, and offers beautiful views and wonderful accommodations. In August, Seattle weather is at its finest.
We also welcome participants' guests. The conference guest tours and activities will showcase the highlights of the Seattle area.
