A solid understanding of the fundamentals of pavement management systems will provide the foundation necessary to gain maximum benefit from your participation in conference technical sessions. If you are new to pavement management or want to refresh your knowledge, this one-day Introduction to Pavement Management is designed specifically for you. Topics will include pavement management basics (e.g., project vs. network level PMS), what data to collect in a pavement distress survey, and how to implement a pavement management system in your agency. You will have the opportunity to participate in workshop modules throughout the course. "How to" sessions will include activities such as "How to break a pavement network into manageable segments," and "How to set up a pavement condition survey." At the conclusion of the course you will have the information you need to successfully implement a pavement management system and to benefit fully from your participation in the 5th International Conference on Managing Pavements.
