Sponsorship Opportunities
The 30th National Medicinal Chemistry Symposium will be held June 25-29, 2006 on the beautiful University of Washington campus in Seattle, Washington. This year's program Chair is Dr. Graham Johnson, Chief Research Officer for Rib-X Pharmaceuticals. In addition to the company-sponsored chemistry awards session which has yet to be confirmed, Graham has assembled a truly "orthogonal" program that should be both stimulating and of interest to a wide audience.
As you know, this important national meeting is held every two years and is attended by medicinal chemists from the U.S. as well as Europe and Asia. It provides the premier forum for the medicinal chemistry community to meet, discuss new science, and network. This meeting also provides an unparalleled opportunity for companies to reinforce their reputation and increase their visibility through financial sponsorship and the active participation of their scientists as speakers, poster presenters and session chairs.
To organize and host a conference of this magnitude, maximize academic participation and yet continue to hold down registration fees, we must raise significant funds from grants and private sources. A contribution of any amount would be most welcome. Sponsors will be recognized within the 30th NMCS printed program and during the opening ceremonies.
In addition to general financial support a limited number of Named Major Event Sponsorship opportunities are available at the $8,000 level.
Major Events include:- The Opening Reception
- The First Poster Session
- The Second Poster Session
- The Medicinal Chemistry Awards Symposium
- Any of the 6 thematic sessions
In addition to recognition of general financial support within both the 30th National NMCS printed program and during the opening ceremonies, Major Event Sponsors will be clearly recognized in print and during the actual sponsored event. Named Major Event Sponsor opportunities are limited and will be honored on a first come first served basis. If you are interested in these opportunities please contact me directly.
To ensure that contributions are received and designated correctly please make your check payable to the 30th National Medicinal Chemistry Symposium. Please include a letter that indicates the funds are "In support of the 30th National Medicinal Chemistry Symposium." If you wish your support to be considered a tax-deductible gift to the symposium please make sure the letter that accompanies your contribution clearly states that it is "a gift in support of the 30th National Medicinal Chemistry Symposium."
Contributions should be mailed to: Dr. Wendel Nelson, University of Washington, Department of Medicinal Chemistry, Box 357610, Seattle, WA, 98195. Should you have any questions or suggestions please don't hesitate to contact me directly by phone (206)543-2209, fax (206)685-3252 or email wlnelson@u.washington.edu.
Oh behalf of Graham, the local organizing committee and myself I want to thank you sincerely in advance for your assistance in underwriting this important symposium. We look forward to welcoming you and your staff in Seattle.
Sincerely,
Wendel L. Nelson
