Abstract Title: Current Understanding of Particle Influences on Magnetic Reconnection

Abstract : We report recent results of the investigation of the particle influence on reconnection through current sheets. In particular we discuss the results of two- and three-dimensional kinetic plasma simulation and derive in situ observable signatures of these findings. We than quote current CLUSTER results obtained by the four s/c during magnetotail passages and at the magnetopause. The multi-spacecraft data seem to verify features of particle reconnection demonstrated by the simulation approaches.
