Abstract Title: Plasmaspheric Response to Substorms

All Authors: M. Moldwin
Abstract : The plasmasphere often responds to both the growth phase and expansive phase of substorms depending on previous geomagnetic conditions. This response is occasionally characterized by the appearance of plasmaspheric plasma at geosynchronous orbit on the nightside during the growth phase, and the creation of small-scale density features in response the expansive phase. Observations from the LANL geosynchronous spacecraft, CRRES, and IMAGE will be used to demonstrate this behavior.
