Author Instructions
The submission deadline was Feb. 1, 2001. Authors were notified of the status of submissions by April 10, 2001.
The deadline for revised, extended abstracts was May 10, 2001. Extended abstracts of accepted contributions are published in the Proceedings of the 18th ICDERS in CD-ROM format. Short abstracts (submitted via the on-line author form) are included in the 18th ICDERS Program booklet. Authors wishing to review short abstracts may use the abstract search page. Below are guidelines for the preparation of extended abstracts.

General Formatting Instructions for ICDERS Extended Abstracts:

The length of each paper, including the text, figures, tables, and references
may not exceed a maximum of 5 pages. Papers should be prepared in a single-column
format. Single-space all text material, including references, table titles,
and figure captions.
Margins
The page margins should be set to 25 mm (1 inch) on top, bottom and sides
of page. (If you are using A4 paper, set bottom margin to 42 mm.)
Type
The suggested type style (font) is Times Roman. The suggested type size
is 12 point; type size should be no smaller than 10 point.
Electronic Submission
Submit your extended abstract of up to 5 pages in length including tables
and figures. Authors should prepare and submit extended abstracts in Adobe
Acrobat .pdf format whenever possible. Please embed all fonts (select this
option when converting file to PDF) in your document. Microsoft Word is
also an acceptable format; all graphics must be embedded (do not link),
either within the text or at the end of the paper.
Please restrict filenames to eight (8) characters or less (plus a three-character
extension) and use the last name of the contact author in the filename.
Do not use the name of the conference in the filename.
