Class Details

Classroom Hours

The class meets from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. the first four days and meets from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon on the final day. The exam will take place on the final day. Please be aware that attendance during all course sessions is required.

Course Materials

Textbooks and a course notebook are included in the registration fee. All course materials will be given to participants on the first day of the course. Participants should bring a calculator with LOG and LN math functions. Assignments and exam problems will require some knowledge of algebra and calculus.

You may have the course notebook mailed to you prior to the course for $15. notebooks will be sent only if your request is received two weeks before the course starts. Please note that we can only mail the course notebook, not the course texts, prior to the course. To request to have the notebook mailed to you, please add $15 shipping and handling to your registration.

Course Examination

In order to successfully complete this course, participants must pass an examination on the last day. Approximately two weeks are required for the instructors to grade the exams. The names of those individuals who have passed the exam will be sent to the State of Alaska Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors. Course participants will be informed of the exam results and successful participants issued a certificate of course completion from the University of Washington.
