Recertification of Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL)

This eight hour class satisfies the Washington Department of Ecology’s requirements for three-year renewal of Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Leads (CESCL). The course reviews some of the basics of erosion and sediment control, then addresses several topics of interest to the experienced practitioner: Risk Management; Inspection and Monitoring; Effective BMPs; Chemical Treatment of Stormwater. The Inspection and Monitoring segment includes hands-on practice collecting and analyzing stormwater turbidity and pH data.

Faculty

The instructor and creator of the course, Carl Menconi, is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC). He consults and teaches courses on stormwater management for engineers, regulators, and contractors throughout Washington state.

Eligibility

Recertification may be obtained by completing this refresher course no later than six months after the initial certification expires or by taking the initial 16-hour training course again.
