BMES 2000

Biomedical Engineering Society
Annual Meeting
October 12-14, 2000
Seattle, Washington USA

Welcome

The first BMES conference of the new millennium will take place between October 12-14. This conference, organized around twelve principal tracks, spans several established and new frontiers. The program includes in depth presentation of research in the mainstay areas of the Biomedical Engineering Society such as Cardiovascular Engineering, Respiratory System, Biomechanics, Metabolism, Biomaterials, and Modeling, including expanded coverage of the field produced with the help of the sister societies, the U.S. National Committee on Biomechanics and the Institute of Biomedical Engineering.

The Conference presents cutting edge research in the emerging frontiers of Cellular and Tissue Engineering, and features emerging technologies such as Molecular and Nanoscale Engineering. New to this Conference are topics such as Artificial Organs, Neural Engineering, the Physiome, and Space Bioengineering. We are particularly pleased to highlight the Engineering Research Centers in various fields of Biomedical Engineering, the Biomedical Engineering honorary society, Alpha Eta Mu Beta, as well as various educational and industrial initiatives. More than 800 papers and posters will be presented at the BMES 2000; we assure you that these will make an exciting scientific menu for your palate and taste.

On behalf of the program committee and the societies and organizations sponsoring this meeting, we extend warm greetings and an enthusiastic invitation to come to Seattle and participate in this exciting conference.
