Conference Location
The conference will be held in the Physics/Astronomy Building on the
University of Washington campus in Seattle.
Seattle is known for its scenic beauty, temperate climate, and abundant
cultural and recreational opportunities. The Puget Sound region offers
many opportunities for recreation and sightseeing. The Olympic Mountains
to the west and the Cascade Mountains to the east provide a spectacular
setting for the city. Just north of downtown Seattle, the University
of Washington campus occupies 684 acres bordering Lake Washington. The
campus conference headquarters, nearby restaurants, shops, and services
are all within comfortable walking distance.

Parking
A car is not necessary for conference participants who will be staying
in Universtiy area hotels. The recommended hotels are walking distance
from the campus. For participants who will be arriving by car, visitor
parking is available in the Central Plaza Garage for $8.00 per day.
The parking garage entrance is located at 15th Avenue N.E. and N.E.
41st Street. Further information will be provided in a registration
confirmation packet.
Travel
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is located 30 minutes south of
campus and is served by both domestic and international airlines. Airport
shuttle services and taxis provide transportation between the airport
and downtown hotels or the University area; tickets and information
are available on the baggage claim level of the airport.
Shuttle
Express is suggested for late night and early morning hours or for
transportation to the University area and locations not served by the
Gray Line Airport service. Departures are frequent and advance reservations
from the airport are not required. The one-way cost to the University
is approximately $23 (or $30 for two persons traveling together).
The Gray
Line Airport Express provides frequent shuttle service to downtown
Seattle hotels between 6:00 a.m. and 11:45 p.m. The cost is $8.50 per
person one-way. Advance reservations are not necessary. Tickets may
be purchased from the service desks located on the baggage claim level

Taxi service from the
airport to downtown hotels is approximately $35.00 one-way and $40.00
one-way to the University area.
