Graduate Credit Options

Graduate Non-Matriculated Student Status

A Graduate Non-Matriculated (GNM) student is not presently seeking a degree, but may apply a maximum of 12 graduate level credits toward degree requirements, should he or she be accepted into a graduate program.

It is important to note that acceptance as a GNM student does not imply admission to a graduate degree program.

Eligible Courses and Degree Completion

Academic credit is available in several courses as noted in the course descriptions for each certificate program. A limited number of 400-level credits can be used toward a master's degree.

Four UW master's degree programs are available to part-time students through Education at a Distance for Growth and Excellence (EDGE), the distance learning program for the UW College of Engineering.

Available degrees include:
Aeronautics and Astronautics
Aerospace Engineering
Manufacturing Engineering
Mechanical Engineering

In addition, credits earned as a GNM student through the certificate programs can be used toward a Master's degree on campus.

Application Criteria

BS Degree in the chosen field of study, or closely related field.
