Evaluation

An Overview

The University of Washington Center for Workforce Development (CWD) has been involved in evaluation in science and engineering fields for more than 20 years with a strong emphasis on using research to inform practice. Leveraging CWD’s research strengths, the evaluation staff adapts rigorous research methodologies to assess the impact of programs designed to diversify the science and engineering workforce.

CWD conducts program evaluations at all levels of the science and engineering pipeline including K-12 schooling, postsecondary education, graduate programs, and the workforce. Evaluation reports provide program administrators with information needed to identify areas for formative improvements as well as summative data to measure program outcomes. Populations of interest in these evaluations include those who are underrepresented in STEM fields such as women, minority groups, and people with disabilities from students to faculty.

Documenting program success with reliable data enables continued funding and wider impact of your research and education grants.
