CWD SERVICES
CWD offers a wide variety of services to help organizations recruit, retain, and advance a diverse technical workforce. Corporations, institutions of higher education, individual faculty members, governmental agencies, and professional associations turn to CWD for its expertise in analysing, assisting, and coordinating programs in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education and careers.
CWD can assist in starting up a diversity program to increase the numbers of underrepresented students and employees. CWD can also evaluate and assess existing diversity programs to determine their efficacy and long-term impact.
For faculty applying for NSF research grants, CWD can help determine how to address and meet the Criterion 2 requirement in the grant proposal. CWD is also familiar with the NSF ADVANCE program, and can assist institutions applying for this solicitation.
For organizations seeking to improve retention and advancement of underrepresented members, CWD can help put a mentoring program into place.
CWD also evaluates and assesses the climate of the undergraduate, graduate, or workplace setting, to determine negative effects on minorities and women. CWD can suggest changes to make the climate favorable for all members.
If your organization would like to enlist CWD to help meet your goals in recruiting, retaining, and advancing a diverse workforce, contact Dr. Suzanne Brainard at (206) 542-4810, or email brainard@engr.washington.edu.
