CENTER for WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

The Center for Workforce Development (CWD) at the University of Washington focuses on diversity through research, evaluations, and programmatic initiatives in higher education and the workforce. CWD meets the challenges of the emerging workforce: recruitment, retention, and advancement of women and underrepresented minorities.

 

Highlighted Projects

We are proud to host the 2009 Nanoethics Graduate Education Symposium here at the University of Washingon. The symposium is a joint effort with the University of South Carolina and will take place September 8-11, 2009. The conference will bring together graduate students and leading scholars from across disciplines to discuss ethics of nanoscience and nanotechnologies. The Project to Assess Climate in Engineering (PACE) is a five-year study of undergraduate engineering student retention. This multi-site research project will identify issues that affect persistence rates among engineering undergraduates. This study is funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
