Find a Co-op Job

The College of Engineering and the Engineering Co-op Program have advisers, online tools, and programs to help you find a Co-op job or internship.

We recommend you start your job search with our electronic recruiting tool, Experience® eRecruiting. This tool is used by employers and students specifically for Co-op jobs. Other sources available to you for finding a job include HuskyJobs, the UW Career Center, and Career Fairs.

How to Get Started with Experience® eRecruiting

  1. Create or update your resume. Resume writing, interviewing and other job search skills workshops are offered regularly by the Engineering Advising and Diversity Center (EADC). Check the For Current Students page for upcoming workshops.
  2. Get an unofficial copy of your transcripts from MyUW.
  3. Set up your Experience® eRecruiting account. You'll be prompted to complete a mandatory orientation. After you complete the orientation, you can upload your resume and unofficial transcript.
  4. Apply for Co-op jobs using your unique login and password. If you find a job using the eRecruiting tool, you are agreeing to register your job with the Co-op program.

Once you are offered a job, set up a 30-minute pre-work meeting with a Co-op adviser and do a pre-work self-assessment.

Other options for finding a Co-op job include:

  • HuskyJobs lists internships, part- and full-time jobs, volunteer opportunities, and links to the Web sites of employers. Also, check the other resources provided by the UW Career Center.
  • Find a job on your own that qualifies for Co-op. You can turn an internship into a Co-op job for credit as long as it meets the minimum requirements: 50% engineering related, at least three months long, and paid. See Co-op Salary Statistics in the employers' Co-op information. For help, contact the Co-op office.
