Getting Started

To get started with the Co-op Program and begin applying for positions you need to complete the following steps.

Step 1
 
 

Complete the online orientation tutorial. This takes about 10 minutes.

Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to meet with us personally at engrcoop@u.washington.edu or 206-543-1770. We are located in Loew Hall 301.

Step 2

Once you have stablished an eRecruiting account (after completing online orientation), upload your application materials to eRecruiting. Your application materials consist of the following:

  1. Resume
  2. *Unofficial Transcript
  3. Cover Letter and/or writing samples (some employers request a cover letter and/or writing samples)
*Students can print a PDF version of your unofficial transcripts from MyUW. There is a link "Printer Friendly Version" near the top of the page.
Step 3

Apply for Co-op Jobs using the unique login and password provided by the Co-op Program. Access the Co-op Jobs / eRecruiting system. If students find a position through eRecruiting, student agrees to register their Co-op experience with the Co-op program (see Step 4).

Step 4

Once you find a position through eRecruiting, contact the Engineering Co-op Program at 206-543-1770 or engrcoop@u.washington.edu to schedule your 30 minute pre-work meeting to cover Co-op course requirements.

 

Students will be registered for 2 credits (full-time) and 1 credit (part-time) per quarter on Co-op and will pay a quarterly Co-op fee for these credits. For a full-time Co-op, students will pay $330/undergrad and $450/graduate for 2 credits and for a part-time Co-op, students will pay $165/undergrad, $225/graduate for 1 credit. This is a requirement for all students who find their position through the eRecruiting website.
