Co-op Course Requirements
Pre-work meeting
Once you receive a job through eRecruiting, you are required to contact Co-op to schedule your 30 minute pre-work meeting. At the meeting you will be informed of all requirements listed below and will be registered for the ENGR 321 Co-op course. Please bring a copy of your job offer letter and job description, which include your pay rate and dates of employment, to your pre-work meeting.
If you find a position on your own (not through eRecruiting) and would like to turn your position into a Co-op, please email your job description to coop@engr.washington.edu for review. If we can confirm that your position is at least 50% engineering related, it should be a simple process to turn your position into a Co-op.
Call 206-543-1770 or email engrcoop@u.washington.edu to schedule the pre-work meeting.
Fees:
Students do not pay tuition while employed in Co-op; instead a quarterly fee is paid for the Co-op experience (which covers the credits) The fee is billed by the student accounts office. Some Co-op employers are willing to reimburse students for this fee.

Grading System
ENGR 321 and ENGR 322 are a Credit/No Credit course. A grade of "N", which means "Continuing", will appear on the Co-op students record each Co-op quarter, until the student is registered for ENGR 322 the quarter they return back to UW and the required assignments are completed. At the end of the quarter for which the Co-op student returns and completes the Co-op requirements, the "N" grades will change to "CR" credit. For example, if a student works autumn and winter quarters (ENGR 321), and is registered for Post-work (ENGR 322) during spring quarter, the Co-op credits will appear on the transcript at the end of Spring quarter for the Co-op quarters in which they worked (Fall and Winter). Note that there is no credit or fee associated with ENGR 322.
If the Objective Report, Co-op Report, Student Evaluation, and Co-op Poster Session are not completed by the specified deadline, the student will receive a grade of "incomplete". Failure to complete the requirements by the specified due date will result in a permanent "I/NC" (Incomplete, no credit) grade.
