Windows Domain

All PCs that we support are part of our Windows Active Directory domain. All domain users have access to file storage space on our file server via their "My Documents" folder. Files on the file server are regularly backed up and archived for 1 week.

In addition, we maintain a number of shared folders on the file server for workgroups within the Dean's Office and College Centers and Programs.

Email

We operate an IMAP4 email server for staff of the Dean's Office. If you have an account on our server and you need to configure a mail client to access your mail, here are the settings you will need.

Server name: mail.engr.washington.edu
Port: 993 (enable secure connection; see below about installing our secure certificate)
Protocol: IMAP4
IMAP home directory: ~/mail/
SMTP Server: mail.engr.washington.edu

Note: Users of UW campus dial-up services need to use "smtp.washington.edu" as their SMTP server, and they need to enable authentication using NetID and password.

We provide mailing list services for all College users. Contact us at help@engr.washington.edu to request a list.

Web Services

We operate and maintain the College of Engineering's web server. All content, by and large, is contributed and managed by staff throughout the Dean's Office and College Programs and Centers. However, if there is something you want added to or updated on our site, please contact webhelp@engr.washington.edu

Web server statistics

Calendar

All of our supported users have an account on C&C's Oracle Calendar server. Oracle Calendar is a group scheduling application that allows you to keep your own calendar to manage your time and view the calendars of others to facilitate scheduling.

C&C has several on-line resources available to help you use Oracle Calendar.

DHCP

We manage DHCP for Loew Hall (128.95.202/24) and part of Wilcox Hall (128.95.19/24). To request IP addresses in those buildings, please contact us via help@engr.washington.edu or 1-4214.

DNS

We manage DNS for the engr.washington.edu domain.
