University of Washington State GEAR UP Project
GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is a program for designated districts and schools in Washington state to promote college awareness and readiness for middle and high school students. The project focuses on Educational Programs for students and the Collaborative for Instructional Development for educators.
Educational programs for students »- Summer Institutes offer week-long college immersion experiences to teach GEAR UP students from partner middle and high schools about preparing for college.

The Collaborative for educators »- The Collaborative for Instructional Development (the Collaborative) provides professional development opportunities for educators in partner schools located throughout Washington who work with GEAR UP students.
GEAR UP also supports the College of Engineering Mathematics Academy:
Mathematics Academy for high school juniors »- High-achieving high school juniors interested in studying engineering at the UW develop the math and problem-solving skills necessary to succeed in engineering.
