Diamond Award Categories

The College of Engineering is committed to celebrating the many achievements and contributions made by outstanding alumni and friends. The College Diamond Awards honor exemplary individuals in five categories:

Distinguished Achievement in Academia

This award honors outstanding alumni of the UW College of Engineering who have distinguished themselves by their superior knowledge and significant contributions to the field of engineering education and research.

Distinguished Achievement in Industry

This award honors outstanding alumni of the UW College of Engineering who have distinguished themselves by their superior knowledge and significant contributions in the engineering related industry in which they have chosen to establish a career. The award celebrates the professional and personal accomplishments of the individual.

Entrepreneurial Excellence

This award recognizes a graduate of the UW College of Engineering who best exemplifies the ideals of entrepreneurship in any or all of the following ways: been a founder of one or more entrepreneurial ventures; contributed to the engineering profession in ways that are an inspiration to others; changed the world in a positive way through the use of engineering skills and creativity.

Distinguished Service

The selection of the Distinguished Service Award winner, graduate or friend, is based upon demonstrated service to students and faculty at the UW College of Engineering and/or meritorious public service on a local, state, national or international level.

Early Career Achievement

This award recognizes outstanding graduates of the UW College of Engineering who demonstrate exceptional achievement during the first ten (10) years of an engineering career. Career accomplishments, contributions to the profession, excellence in research and education, and volunteer service are considered in making this award.
