Students can apply for one of three scholarship programs. If selected, they receive $3100 per month, every month, until graduation from college. Students may apply as early as their sophomore year. Openings are in Nuclear Instructor (teaching high school graduates in physics, math, and basic engineering subjects). Instructor applicants must have at least a cum GPA of 3.3 at time of application. This program has a four year obligation to teach at our engineering campus in Charleston, S.C. Another position is the Reactor Engineer Officer. These individuals get involved with the research and design of nuclear reactors. These applicants must have at least a 3.6 cum GPA to apply (5 yr. obligation). Last, is the Nuclear Propulsion Officers aboard ships and submarines. These officers are reactor engineering supervisors and must have at least a 3.0 cum GPA to apply (5 yr. obligation & a $10K signing bonus). All these programs provide two basic benefits for the student, (1) money while in college, and (2) a guaranteed job after graduation. All programs are highly competitive and a final interview in Washington DC is the main selection factor.
The applicant must be pursuing a post-high school education in the field of engineering, math, physics, or chemistry.
Other qualifications apply (i.e., medical, US citizenship, Max age 34, criminal, etc.). Please contact for more info.
